brought them to the area i went with the smoo people a few weeks ago and boy, did we have fun!
even those in pants like solomon n daniel joined in the activites... frisbee, sandcastle building, volleyball n soccer.. cool man! think the only sports i did the whole day was frisbee, frisbee n more ultimate frisbee! haha.
i guess i'm really liking that game eh! of course it doesn't mean i play it well, my long passes are really wobbly n off course. haha.but sam, aaron, alvin, martin n pearlyn have really good passes! and of course, rayson n jasmine! haha. power duo! the girls made friends with some english kids playing in the sand beside us, and they had lots of fun playing tag! :) also sang jerry his birthday song in advance n presented his birthday cake (which was made of sand but totally looked edible) to him! think the creators of the cake were really proud of it. it had 4 layers, a moat around and stuff! it was probably the most fancy 'sandcastle' i've ever built. :P
so now i'm burnt. seriously. from the shoulders to the arms for the first time in my life. and it hurts! owwwwwwww. congratulations me.

alright, so in the end i went to carol with the voices.. and i must say i never regretted it at all. not even when i had to mouth my way through 3 renditions of 'let it snow'. oh man, that last time when we had to face the audience and sing i was praying so so hard that no one was watching my mouth closely cos i kept forgetting the verses! yikes.
thank you kane for finally 'persuading' me to go! (: and of cos, ching n youzi for smsing, and even liwei for constantly telling me that it was alright even if i wasn't sure of the songs, just to go and sing with everyone and have fun. :D
have fun i did! wahh. and to quote ching, christmas is never christmas without carolling with hcv. ahh. seeing everyone again, singing with everyone again, hitting all the high notes (though my throat's still giving me probs SIGH but at least i hit :P) and hearing the basses! hahaha. did i mention i stood beside 2 powerful basses! rawwwwwks! :D
ah. i love carolling with hcv. :) nothing quite like it.
youth outing at sentosa n watchnite coming!!! funfunfun. though this means i'll prob miss alumni gathering cos dad wun allow a stayover... but ah wells. at least i got to see them during christmas. :)

haven't slept so long in ages!
19hrs. whoosh.... 4pm to this morning 11am.. and now i still kinda feel like sleeping. kinda.
it's not that i didn't get any sleep at all during camp, i did sleep (apart from the first night- no thanks to those stupid pack of wild dogs. remind me to leave poisoned food and shoes all around our chalet next time, if there is a next time.) but i guess it wasn't enough? or perhaps i was just making up for all the sleep-deprived days during the exams.
still can't make up my mind whether to carol later or not. haven't practised the other songs at all! blahs.
well camp was actually quite fun, though this time i felt it was me watching God move among the youths more than having Him minister to me.. though this doesn't mean i was a spectator during ministry time or that He didn't speak to me. got to mix around and talk to different people too, really glad for the opportunities given during camp. the most fun game was probably the puzzle one, or in abel's words, the 'zigzaw' one. apparently he's always thought that jigsaw was pronounced that way! hahahha.. funny person. although we really exerted ourselves with sprinting.. (man the adrenaline rush was fantastic.) i felt it was really fun! it was something new. the game really made u hyped up and got the teams together also cos we were working together to piece the puzzles. amazing race was a-ok, was station master so didn't play anything though i rather pitied the poor teams. i didn't realise there were so many 'finding' stations! no wonder they were so tired out. thank God for the fantastic weather! indeed, He will always come through for us.
yupp, must also thank grandpa, serene, shee, nana plus all the others who were huddled ard the gals' table peering thru jerry's swiss army knife magnifying glass at my finger, trying the determine the location of the splinter. ali for holding up the tiny light for the 'surgeons' and delaying her 'take out contacts time'. in retrospect, they could have chosen not to bother, cos the splinter seemed rather tiny, but they did. so our table was turned into a mini operating theatre of sorts. and it was definitely an experience having a tweezer, then a safety pin poked into my finger to try and get the splinter out. and oh yes. thanks pearlyn for happily pinching my left arm at regular intervals to 'divert the pain'... think i felt BOTH sides of the pain though. :P yes, i'm loved by the church. very much so. :)
note to self: i never want to hear a dog howling, barking or fighting with other dogs in the wee hours of the morning again.

went to sentosa today with the gang! there's so many of us that i shall just term the whole grp 'the gang'. lemme see. jun, ling, wee, chow, ming, ren, yeo, wei, chang, hao, ed, ric and i. haha. this is fun, my little game of thinking up alternative 'names' for my friends.
played ultimate frisbee, touch rug and passing with the howler and frisbee... and did i mention lots and lots of frisbee? whee. think it was the most exercise i've had since.... long ago! even more than when the youth went to east coast to kayak and cycle. somehow i felt i exerted myself more today. perhaps it was due to the competitive spirit in us eh. :P
wee brought this thing called a howler- a miniature rugby ball with some thing like the tail end of a dart made of styrofoam attached to it. if u throw it fast and hard it makes a wheeee sound, kinda like a howler i guess. at first the guys were doubtful that we girls would be able to throw the thing properly, but after a few failed attempts we got things going! hooray girls! :D
while playing frisbee in the super hot sun the guys decided to take off their slippers. initially i didn't cos the sand was hoooootttt! but whaddayaknow, 5 minutes into the game and my slippers died on me. the strap on the left slipper came out and that was the end of the purple slippers. sobs. so i had to play barefooted, anyway the guys in my grp were all barefooted so well. and after that it was terrible cos my feet felt as if they were on fire. seriously.
had a really fun day at the beach! my first time gg to sentosa in.... 3 years? the last time was during youth camp amazing race i think. and there were lots of laughs.. harhar. and true to ren's word, the new toilets were nice. believe it or not, the girls ended up waiting for all the guys to finish washing up! -_-"
oh ya btw while we were in between games someone- i forgot who, looked around and said, "oh so everyone's here! eh, but where's emma?" to which we replied in unison: he's overseas la!
ahah! see, you are remembered! :D
then we went to vivo for lunch at err. 3 pm? ate at food republic and burnt holes in our pockets. thank God for the yummy meatballs that grandpa, dot n chris delivered (literally) to me! yayy. after that the rest decided to go play at the arcade since they couldn't decide on a movie (i think) while i met up w grandpa, dot n chris! and just as we were walking along who should we bump into but nana n shee! wahaha. so we happily split into guys and gals and the day ended with the very satisfied shee, dot n grandpa who made purchases worth their moolah. laughed the whole way home with the gals while grandpa n chris joined in or slapped their foreheads. hahaha!
what a nice day. :D

tada!
945am.

only gotten 2/5 so far. hmmmm. eagerly awaiting the other results. wonder how they'll be.
and i can't believe i'm looking forward to getting results (through mail notification, no less) cos i've never liked them! esp in jc. that sinking feeling, oh-i've-got-an-O-again feeling. eeks. what have the hols done to me... -_-"
on a lighter note,
i've gotten my matri card replaced! yesh. finally. after 1 month's (or so?) worth of slamming/whacking/nicely tapping my card at the gantries and at the entrances of gsr-s and realising that my card hasn't even been detected by the sensors... then having to face the guards' suspicious looks or reprimands after friends (i.e. tng) sneakily tap me through. or giving the please-help-me look to my other friends comfortably sitting in the gsr and then hearing them exclaim after they let me in: 'wah, your card ar!!!!'
thank you to all who have bailed me out- (hopefully there won't be any need for that in the future)
probably the first: jun. cos well, i'm always hanging around with her and she was probably the first to realise when my card started to die off.
the most often: tng. somehow he has cultivated a standard reaction once i don't follow suit thru the gantries in 5sec *lopes card over the gantry with a 'used to it' face. harhar!*
the most recent: wee. witnessed me trying to get thru various gantries at the library to no avail and came to the gantry beside me, casually slid his wallet over my gantry's sensor while the guard was distracted and voila! i was in. :D super helpful there.
aaaand we have come to the end of the acknowledgments.
wonder if i'll be able to carol this yr, hmm? what with not being able to attend sat pracs and all.. plus i've got camp and youth christmas item. well. see how, i guess? hope to see everyone again.. just won't be the same without riohc. :)

no breakfast.
died during AS exam, good thing i was the only one who could hear my stomach calling away for food REPEATEDLY. aicks.
lousy lunch at 12 plus with a miserable plate of noodles which i paid $11.50 minus service charge for. never going there again! waste of moolah. hardly filled me.
dinner at 5 plus cos i was hungry still! dang.
supper at 1130 cos parents hadn't eaten.
and now i'm too full to sleep. darn.
anyways.
today i re-discovered a game to play when you're bored.
today's application: waiting for the traffic light to change in your favour
trigger: a fren (in this case, the idiotic tng) comes up to you, looks down at your feet and goes 'ah! white shoes! step!' *cue stomp on my feet while i gasp in shock*
your response: RETALIATE!!!
from here, the game starts cos well, it takes 2 hands to clap right?
so there the 2 of us were, me trying to stomp on tng's slippered feet (mind you, if i really stomped he would have died. i was wearing shoes man. so there.) by chasing him all ard that space we were waiting at. and crazily enough, he was so adept at dodging (like a mad hare or sth) that i could barely step on his feet. though in the end when i finally gave up the chase we were both rather out of breath. haha!
but it was fun yes.
fun for us, relieving our 'childhood moments' by playing a more violent version of 'pepsi cola onetwothree!' and fun for those watching cos they were just so appalled by our 'childish' act. hur.
and i am NOT a pok, u penguin/bird! xP
